Hello, my name is Peter Crow, an accredited non-executive director and advisor trusted by boards and directors seeking assistance to realise the potential of the companies they govern. Thank you for stopping by.
The pursuit of high business performance rightly starts in the boardroom. Boards and directors around the world rely on my expertise—in corporate purpose, strategy, corporate governance and effective board practice in particular—to align effort, improve board effectiveness and drive business performance. I also undertake research, write and am also regularly invited to speak on these topics.
My industry expertise (founded on a rare blend of practical leadership, advisory engagements, practical boardroom experience and advanced research) extends across many sectors including professional services, high technology, agribusiness, logistics and distribution, healthcare and local government.
I am available to serve globally, and welcome advisory, speaking, facilitation and research enquiries from boards and directors committed to the ideals of high company performance and long-term value creation. For more information, check my professional biography and LinkedIn profile, or get in touch directly.
My boardroom experience stretches back some twenty years. I've served as a director, trustee and chairman; notably of privately-held and high-growth companies, but also of social enterprises. Current and recent appointments include:
If you want to consider me for an non-executive director vacancy in New Zealand, Australia or the United Kingdom, please get in touch.
My communications style is that of an engaging storyteller. While I'm typically invited to speak on aspects of strategy, corporate governance and board effectiveness, my broad general knowledge provides credibility to address a wide range of topical subjects. Here's one example.
I've addressed audiences at business and academic conferences, seminars, industry forums, university lectures, dinner functions and award ceremonies; throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the United Kingdom, Western and Central Europe and North America.
Contact me to discuss your requirements and check my availability to speak at your event.
My professional credentials include Chartered Membership of the Institute of Directors (CMInstD), and membership of several international institutes and academies including the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) and the European Academy of Management (EURAM).
My academic credentials were awarded by Massey University, where I was a Massey Scholar. These include Bachelor of Technology (first-class honours), Post-graduate Certificate in Business and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. My doctoral thesis is entitled Understanding corporate governance, strategic management and firm performance: As evidenced from the boardroom.
Outside my work with boards and directors, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading history, serving in the local community and, when time allows, pursuing interests in classic cars and road cycling. I lives in Whitby, New Zealand with my wife. We have three adult children.
