Hello, my name is Peter Crow. I am an experienced company director and chairman, and an advisor, speaker and author with internationally acknowledged expertise in corporate governance, effective board practice and strategy.
Essentially, I'm a problem solver with a straightforward motivation: to help boards committed to the ideals of high firm performance and sustainable value creation realise the full potential of the firms they govern. See my professional biography.
My board experience is extensive. It includes director, trustee and chair appointments; notably of privately-held and high-growth companies, but also family firms and social enterprises:
For many years now, boards around the world have sought my expertise to align effort, improve effectiveness and pursue firm performance. I've been fortunate to work with boards and directors in many different countries and sectors; discretely providing insightful guidance founded on deep knowledge, critical enquiry and practical board experience.
For more information, please visit the QuarryGroup website. I am available globally.
I have fulfilled keynote speaker, panelist and guest lecture invitations at business and academic conferences, industry seminars and forums, award ceremonies and dinner events; in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, North America and Asia. Commonly requested themes include emerging corporate governance trends; case studies; recommendations for more effective board practice; the board's role in strategy; and insights from recent research. However, the depth and currency of my general knowledge enables me to accept invitations to discuss a wide range of business and social topics.
My preferred speaking style is that of a storyteller, as this example shows. If you'd like to know more, including my availability to contribute to the success of your event, please get in touch.
My professional credentials include Chartered Membership of the Institute of Directors of NZ, and memberships of several international institutions including the International Corporate Governance Network, the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management and the Drucker Society. Academic credentials include a PhD in corporate governance and strategy (Understanding corporate governance, strategic management and firm performance: As evidenced from the boardroom), and a degree (with honours) in technology and management. Massey University is my alma mater, where I was a Massey Scholar.
Outside professional and research work, I enjoy spending time with family, reading history and pursuing interests in classic cars and road cycling. I live in Whitby, New Zealand with my wife. We have three adult children.
