Hello, my name is Peter Crow, a company director, advisor, researcher and speaker with a strong record of service to boards motivated by the ideals of high firm performance and long-term value creation.
For over two decades, boards have sought my assistance to realise the full potential of the firms they govern. My expertise in corporate governance, effective board practice and strategy in particular is internationally acknowledged; insightful guidance founded on deep knowledge, critical enquiry, advanced research and practical board experience making a difference in many different countries, contexts and sectors.
For more information, check the QuarryGroup website. I am available globally.
My board experience includes director, trustee and chair appointments; principally of privately-held and high-growth companies, but also family firms and social enterprises:
I have fulfilled keynote speaker, panelist and guest lecture invitations at business conferences, academic forums, industry seminars, award ceremonies and dinner events; in Australasia, the United Kingdom and Europe, North America and Asia. Commonly requested themes include the board's role in strategy and business success, recommendations for effective board practice and insights from research. However, the depth and currency of my general knowledge provides the credibility to accept invitations to discuss a wide range of business and social topics.
My preferred speaking style is that of a storyteller, as this example shows. For more information, including my availability to contribute to the success of your event, please get in touch.
My credentials include a doctorate in corporate governance and strategy (a pioneering study explaining how boards can influence firm performance); a first in technology and management; chartered membership of the Institute of Directors; and memberships of several international institutions (Peter Drucker Society, International Corporate Governance Network, European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management). Massey University is my alma mater, where I was a Massey Scholar.
Outside professional and research work, I enjoy spending time with family, reading history and pursuing interests in classic cars and road cycling. I live in Whitby, New Zealand with my wife. We have three adult children.
