Hello, my name is Peter Crow. I'm an experienced company director and chairman, and an independent advisor, speaker and author working in service of boards committed to the ideals of high firm performance and sustainable value creation.
My expertise in corporate governance, strategy and effective board practice in particular is widely acknowledged—the provision of insightful guidance founded on in-depth knowledge, critical enquiry and practical boardroom experience proving to be invaluable across a wide range of companies and social enterprises around the world. For more information, see my professional biography or the QuarryGroup website (my advisory practice).
Enquiries from boards and directors seeking assistance to realise the full potential of the firms they govern are most welcome. I am available globally.
My governance experience includes director, trustee and chairman appointments; notably of privately-held and high-growth companies, but also of social enterprises. Current and recent appointments include:
Currently, I am available for one new director appointment, in New Zealand or Australia.
I have addressed audiences at business and academic conferences, seminars, industry forums, university lectures, dinner functions and award ceremonies; throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the United Kingdom, Europe and North America. My preferred speaking style is that of an engaging storyteller.
While typically invited to speak on aspects of corporate governance, effective board practice and strategy (here's one example), the depth and breadth of my general knowledge provides credibility to address a wide range of topical subjects.
Contact me to discuss your requirements and check my availability to speak at your event.
My credentials include Chartered Membership of the Institute of Directors (CMInstD), and memberships of several international institutions (International Corporate Governance Network, European Corporate Governance Institute and European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management). In addition, I hold a doctorate in corporate governance and strategy (Understanding corporate governance, strategic management and firm performance: As evidenced from the boardroom), and an honours degree in technology and management. Massey University is my alma mater, where I was a Massey Scholar.
Outside professional and research work, I enjoy spending time with family, reading history and pursuing interests in classic cars and road cycling. I live in Whitby, New Zealand with my wife. We have three adult children.
