Hello, my name is Peter Crow; an experienced director, chair and advisor with an extensive record of service to boards internationally. I also speak and write on topical board matters, and undertake governance research.
I have worked with boards motivated by the ideals of high performance and long-term value creation for many years, providing guidance to help realise the full potential of the companies they govern. My expertise in corporate governance, board effectiveness and strategy in particular is highly regarded: contributions founded on deep knowledge, a strategic mindset and practical board experience proving invaluable to the fortunes of a wide range of enterprises, in many countries and sectors.
For more information, check the QuarryGroup website. I am available globally.
My governance experience includes director, trustee and chair appointments; principally of privately-held and high-growth companies, family firms and social enterprises:
I have made keynote, panelist and guest lecture contributions at business conferences, academic forums, industry seminars, award ceremonies and dinner events; in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, North America and Asia.
Commonly requested themes include recommendations for effective board practice, the board's role in strategy and business success, emerging trends and insights from research. However, the depth and currency of my general knowledge provides the credibility to accept invitations to discuss a wide range of business and social topics.
Audience members have generously used terms such as 'eloquent', 'authoritative', 'insightful' and 'deft communicator' to describe my contributions. I prefer a more straightforward term: a storyteller.
Here's an example of me speaking. To learn more, including checking my availability to share insights or contribute to the success of your event, contact me today.
My credentials include a PhD in corporate governance and strategy (a pioneering study explaining how boards can influence company performance); a first in technology and management; chartered membership of the Institute of Directors; and memberships of several institutions including the International Corporate Governance Network, the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management and the Peter Drucker Society.
I enjoy relaxing with family, reading history, and pursuing interests in classic cars and road cycling. My wife and I live in New Zealand; we have three adult children.
